The investor password gives read-only access only. EmotionLock can never place, close, or modify trades on your account. This is enforced by the MT5 protocol itself, not by us.
Never stored
Your investor password is forwarded to MetaAPI and immediately deleted. It is never written to our database. Only your server name and account number are stored.
Read-only at protocol level
The investor password is a built-in MT5 feature. The protocol itself blocks all write operations. EmotionLock cannot trade on your behalf.
SOC2 certified storage

EmotionLock works with any broker that supports MetaTrader 5. This includes Vantage, IC Markets, Pepperstone, XM, FusionMarkets and hundreds more.
Is my MT5 investor password safe with EmotionLock?+
Yes, and here is exactly why. EmotionLock only asks for your investor password, not your master password. This gives read-only access enforced at the MT5 protocol level. Placing trades is technically impossible. Your password is never stored in our database: it is transmitted encrypted to MetaAPI (SOC2 certified) and then deleted from our systems. What happens when I reach my daily limit?+
EmotionLock automatically blocks all selected trading apps for the rest of the day. You receive a push notification. The block resets automatically at midnight.
What are emergency tokens?+
Emergency tokens let you temporarily override the lock. You get 2 per week, resets every Sunday at 22:00. Use them wisely. Once they are gone, that is it until next week.
Does it work on iPhone only?+
Currently yes, the app runs on iPhone (iOS 16+). EmotionLock uses Apple's Screen Time API for maximum security. Android is in development and coming soon.
Does EmotionLock lock my MetaTrader app?+
No. EmotionLock uses Apple Screen Time to block trading apps at the iOS system level. Your MetaTrader or MT5 app itself is not touched or modified. This also means the block cannot be bypassed by simply reinstalling the app.
How does pricing work?+
Activate your MT5 connection for a one-time fee of €49,99. The first month is included at no extra cost. After that, EmotionLock renews at €9,99/month. You can cancel at any time in iOS Settings. Cancel before month 2 and you pay nothing more.
